What are the advantages of 100% cashmere wool?
Bompard Cashmere is sourced from the undercoat of the Hircus goat, which is reared primarily on the high Himalayan plateaus of Ladakh and Tibet.
Maison Bompard offers an extensive collection of pure cashmere clothing items, designed in France, and manufactured locally, in the workshops of our partners based in Inner Mongolia. The material is collected and transformed directly on site, providing us with total traceability.

Cashmere fibre is so fine that it naturally makes cashmere wool extremely light. Even when made using an eight or twelve-ply knit, the warmest cashmere pullovers remain light and compact.

As noble as cashmere is, it is anything but a fragile material which is difficult to care for. On the contrary: the softness and firmness of each fibre makes the material highly resilient. Good-quality cashmere loves water and softens each time it is put through careful machine washes. Its naturally elastic quality means it will regain its initial shape after drying.

Cashmere fibres are especially fine and resistant, making them extremely soft and hypoallergenic.
An extraordinary thermoregulating power:
Cashmere is warmer than the traditionally-used sheep’s wool (e.g. mohair, merino, alpaca, etc.) and has hygroscopic properties: it allows for bodily humidity to be eliminated and helps keep the body at an ideal temperature at all times.

What are the benefits of a cashmere and cotton blend?
Clothing produced using a blend of cotton and cashmere is of course less warm than a 100% cashmere piece, while providing the softness and refinement of this luxury fabric. The combination of the two provides a perfect straight fit for light clothing with fluid cuts.
Maison Bompard selects a cotton thread with long fibres: this allows for the making of a smooth, evenly-knitted fabric which durably retains its shape.

What are the benefits of a cashmere and silk blend?
This blend of precious materials bestows elegance, sophistication and lightness on our designs. Silk fibre, just like cashmere fibre, is very resistant, with thermoregulating properties. It provides insulation from the cold in winter and allows for vital humidity to be eliminated in hot weather.
When combined, the brilliance of silk and the softness of cashmere create a perfect alchemy. Long dresses and skirts which harmoniously shape curves, perfecting a silhouette, fitted V-neck pullovers, crew neck pullovers, boat collar pullovers with flared sleeves… The cashmere and silk blend takes many forms in the women wardrobe, as well as the men and children wardrobe.

What are the advantages of a cashmere and wool blend?
A cashmere and wool blend offers the ideal fabric for anyone needing to brave cold and wet climates: while cashmere is unrivalled at preserving body warmth, sheep’s wool, known for
its water-repellent qualities, keeps water away – without however making the clothing item waterproof.
The pairing of cashmere with wool also allows for clothing to be made in a dense knit, known as a Milano knit. As an example, this achieves a casual chic style which suits all body shapes.
